Description: On February 13, 2025, President Trump issued a new executive action to make U.S. trade “more reciprocal and balanced” to reduce the trade deficit, grow the U.S. economy, and improve U.S. trade relationships to benefit U.S. workers, manufacturers, farmers, ranchers, entrepreneurs and businesses.  This document details the executive action and provides a chart of what the reciprocal tariffs could look like for some valve products.

Description: On February 10, 2025, President Trump announced 25% tariffs on steel and aluminum imports from all countries pursuant to Section 232 of the Trade Expansion Act of 1962. The criteria for the addition of downstream derivative products to these measures is unclear for now until further guidance is issued by the Government, but the inclusion of derivatives could easily affect the production and supply chains throughout the industrial valve industry.

Title: New Restrictions on Business Interactions with Russia Issued by Commerce, Treasury and State Departments

Description: The U.S. Departments of Commerce, Treasury, and State published new restrictions that limit entities both in Russia and outside of Russia from access to U.S. materials and international procurement networks for the Russian military. A number of these new restricted parties work in industrial and machining sectors that would potentially use industrial valve and flow control industry products. Companies exporting to this region should read more and see suggested contract language.
