Tyco Flow Control Continues Expansion with Third Oil and Gas Project Management Center
Thursday, October 27, 2011
Houston, October 26, 2011 – Matching pace with the continued
growth of its oil and gas customers, Tyco Flow Control, a unit of Tyco
International, has opened a new Project Management Center and expanded
operations at its oil and gas headquarters in Houston, Texas.
The Houston Project Management Center will work in
coordination with two existing centers in the United Kingdom and Singapore,
providing customers with a single point of contact from Tyco Flow Control for
the duration of their projects. This provides convenience, efficiency and
consistency to the customer and ensures that a team of experts oversees and
coordinates each project from beginning to end.
"The oil and gas industry is a fast-paced, global industry,
with numerous activities taking place around the world simultaneously,” said
Bryant Holt, manager of the Houston Project Center. "Our customers reflect
that, and with our Project Management Centers, we can expand our capabilities
to offer seamless, synchronized worldwide solutions. Customers may want
technical support in Houston, to have a project financed in Europe and then
installed in Asia. We can coordinate all of those aspects and provide a single,
consistent point of contact for our customer through the entire process.”
The Houston Project Management Center’s work begins at the
Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) stage, developing engineering and frame
agreements, and handling the commercial, technical and legal issues that can
arise. Projects can take years to reach completion and all stages of a project
have strict timelines and requirements. The Center can ensure all deliverables
for each stage of a project are completed on time. The Center also provides the
right product and technical information and documentation to the customer, then
confirms the products are properly assembled, tested and shipped.
This expansion allows Tyco Flow Control to increase its
engineering, project management and technical talent, while bringing many
members of its dedicated oil and gas projects team into one location in the
heart of the oil and gas industry. This enables Tyco Flow Control to provide
customers a wider range of capabilities, services and technical support.
"Bringing more employees into one location through the
expansion of our oil and gas headquarters allows us to more seamlessly handle
our customers’ most complex challenges and projects,” said Sheri
Roberts-Updike, vice president and general manager of Tyco Flow Control’s
global oil and gas business. "This growth highlights our commitment to the
industry and the strategic importance of our customers in this business.
Through our broad product portfolio, service capabilities and global reach, we
will continue to support our customers and earn their business as the preferred
flow solution provider.”
