Flowserve Receives Valve Orders from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co.

Flowserve Corp. announced a multimillion-dollar order
from China Nuclear Power Engineering Co. for main steam isolation valves
(MSIVs) and main feedwater isolation valves (MFIVs) and feedwater
motor-operated valves. The order was booked in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The valves were purchased for use at Taishan Units 1 and
2, Chinese EPR (CEPR) pressurized water reactors that are currently under
construction in Guangdong Province, China and scheduled for commercial
operation in 2013 and 2014, respectively.
Taishan Units 1 and 2 represent the first two reactors
based on Areva's EPR technology to be built in China. By 2010, the Chinese
government plans to increase nuclear generating capacity to 40 GWe, according
