Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Acquires Modumend, Inc.

Monday, June 22, 2009
Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company, the flow control segment of Curtiss-Wright Corporation, announced today that it has acquired the assets of Modumend, Inc. for $2 million. Modumend is a market leader in the repair and refurbishment of obsolete power supplies for both foreign and domestic clients in the nuclear, fossil and non-power industries. It will be integrated into Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company Nuclear Group within the Scientech business unit.

"The market demand for maintaining older power supplies is expected to grow as plants age and gain approval for life extensions,” said David Linton, President, Curtiss-Wright Flow Control Company. “The acquisition of Modumend strengthens our position as an obsolescence solutions provider and expands our existing repair/refurbishment services in commercial nuclear and power markets, with the expectation of additional growth in the fossil power market as well as other industries.”

Founded in 1977, Modumend repairs and refurbishes power supplies for both foreign and domestic equipment manufacturers, chemical plants, power plants/electric utilities, nuclear utilities and refineries. It focuses on obsolete and out-of-production units, with expertise in linear, switching, uninterruptible high voltage and integrated circuit power supplies. Total revenue in 2008 was $1 million. The company is located in Camarillo, CA, and has five employees.
