Monday, June 1, 2009
The new design of sub-sea gears (patent pending) with
internal, intelligent compensation have been ordered by Galperti Engineering in
Italy. They will be installed in the Nord Stream pipeline at approximately 1000
feet of depth. Nord Stream is a gas pipeline that will link Russia and the
European Union via the Baltic Sea. It will transport natural gas to supply both
businesses and private households. Delivery of these units is scheduled for
early June 2009. The units’ output torques range from 47,000 in. lbs (5400Nm)
to 200,000 in. lbs (24000Nm).
The new line of sub-sea actuators has been hyperbarically
tested to 13,550 (4000m.) of depth without any decay in performance or
appearance. This product line is available with manual or ROV inputs with output
torque capabilities up to 1,200,000 in. lbs (140000Nm). More…
