Flow-Quip Solves Pipeline Valve Automation Problem Between Wyoming and Kansas

Flow-Quip, Inc. provided twelve automated hydraPAK actuators for installation at remote valve sites along Overland Pass Pipeline's 750-mile natural gas pipeline. Each pipeline gate valve is fitted with Flow-Quip's hydraulic actuator, which is powered by its on-site hydraulic power pack.
 
These units receive control signals from the pipeline Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system, which can shut down the pipeline at any time even if commercial electrical power is unavailable. Each hydraPAK unit stores onboard power for two strokes of the gate valve. More…
