Curtiss-Wright Awarded Follow-On Contract from Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding

Curtiss-Wright Corp. has received a follow-on contract from Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding for the supply of helicopter hangar door equipment for installation on-board the USS Somerset, the ninth ship in the San Antonio-class of amphibious transport/landing platform dock ships. The San Antonio-class, the U. S. Navy's new primary class of amphibious transport dock ship, will ultimately replace a number of older class LPD ships. Curtiss-Wright's Flow Control facility in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, will perform work for this contract with delivery scheduled for 2010. More…
