Weir Group Seeking Possible Merger with Metso

Metso has confirmed that it has recently received an unsolicited approach by Weir with a proposal for commencing discussions concerning a potential combination of the two companies. Metso has not been engaged in any formal discussions with Weir, although it is in the process of considering the proposal. If the deal goes through, Weir Group would become a company worth, in the neighborhood of, £8.5 billion. More...
