Sept. 9-11, 2020


Due to COVID-19, VMA will not be holding the 2020 Annual Meeting this year at the Ritz-Carlton Bacara in Santa Barbara. The VMA Annual Meeting will be held virtually Sept. 9-11, 2020 with the same great educational opportunities as a member you have come to expect from this annual gathering of the VMA membership.


Join us for a virtual experience that will feature educational topics for valve industry professionals with a focus on moving the industry forward after the crisis of 2020 and how it relates to, and provides, different leadership challenges and opportunities. This virtual event will take place from the convenience of your office, saving you time and money.


We understand the annual meeting is also about seeing old friends and making new acquaintances. Virtual networking opportunities will be available to re-connect and rekindle the constructive conversations and camaraderie that is normally a hallmark of this event.


The VMA/VRC Annual Meeting Program Committee is already working to put together this first-ever virtual educational annual meeting for 2020.

The VMA Annual Meeting is open to VMA and VRC members only. Pricing and information on registration will be coming soon.


What should I expect from this virtual event?
Even though this event takes place with attendees and speakers spread all over North America, everyone will be meeting virtually through the same website. This means attendees will hear and see speaker presentations and ask them questions in real-time, can engage in private one-one-conversations and chats, can participate in robust, small-group discussions on topics of interest, and can learn more about the event sponsors. Find out more below.


How is the content delivered?
Attendees will be able to access the event through a unique website dedicated to the Annual Meeting. Audio, video, chat box features and more will be on this website. Program information, including a schedule of events, speaker biographies, abstracts and additional topic information will be available through an easy-to-navigate layout. Presentations will begin and end at the scheduled date and time. Once the event has concluded, all content will be viewable.


Can I ask speakers questions?
Yes, attendees will be encouraged to participate in a robust Q&A chat at the end of each presentation. More small group discussions will be available during networking discussion groups.

Will I know who else is in attendance, and how can I network with them?
There will be facilitated networking discussion groups, limited to small groups, as well as individual discussion opportunities available. If you wish to participate in these, you can do so via your computer video and audio.


What are networking discussion groups?
These are small groups organized by topic, characteristic or even titles to encourage conversation and connection.


What technology requirements do I need to have?
The only requirement is access to the internet! There is no need to download anything on to your computer. You may choose to use your phone or computer for audio. Your computer can be used to view the event. A camera is helpful for the networking rooms, but is not required.


What if I miss a presentation or am I late?
Presentations will run live during their scheduled time frame. Once the talk is complete the link will go dead until the conclusion of the event. After the entire event has ended, all links will be live again for viewing. Any presentation viewed after its assigned time slot will not offer chat opportunities or a chance to ask questions of the speaker.

Registration POLICIES

  • Registration and attendance at, or participation in, this event constitutes an agreement by the registrant to VMA use and distribution (both now and in the future) of the registrant’s or attendee’s image or voice in photographs, videos, electronic reproductions, and audiotapes of such events and activities.
  • VMA does not accept responsibility for any “no-shows.” Regardless of their attendance, these individuals will be charged for the cost of their registration if applicable.
  • VMA events are not open to members of the general public. Only industry individuals/professionals whose companies are members of VMA/VRC will be permitted to attend.
  • All participants agree not to “share” their registration/log-in credentials with others.
  • Actions, words, jokes, or comments based on any individual’s sex, race, color, national origin, age, religion, disability, sexual orientation, or any other legally protected characteristic will not be tolerated.
  • VMA will verify all registrations to confirm compliance with defined registration types and categories. If it is determined that a registrant has not selected the appropriate registration type, a representative will follow up to confirm the correct registration category and rate.
  • All participants in any VMA/VRC meetings/events must adhere to the VMA anti-trust guidelines.
