Human Resources Track

From Hello to Goodbye, How to Improve the Employee Experience

About the Program

Attendees of the Human Resources track at the

Valve Industry Knowledge Forum can look forward to hearing from experts in HR, manufacturing industry workforce, employment law and recruiting/training. In this comprehensive HR track, topics will range from improving the onboarding experience, to building a successful workforce pipeline, to employment law issues to best practices for employee engagement. Along with a member panel, roundtable discussions, and several networking opportunities, attendees will leave with a new set of HR resources and tools to put into use right away upon return to the office.

Speakers include:

  • Mary Ann Pacelli, workforce development manager for the Manufacturing Extension Partnership, an initiative of the National Institute for Standards and Technology. Mary Ann will discuss the unique challenges that manufacturers face when finding and retaining talent, and how to cultivate a successful workforce development program.
  • Louis Lessig, employment litigation specialist and partner at the Brown & Connery, LLC law firm. Louis will present two sessions, the first covering the top ten employment cases of the year including takeaways that attendees can apply to their companies. The second session will feature a fun Jeopardy style game covering lots of information about FMLA, ADA and FLSA matters. Louis will also host a “Stump the Lawyer” segment!
  • Laraine Knauss, human resources director for Food Sciences, Corp. Laraine will be discussing the importance of communicating to your own company’s workforce. Addressing employee engagement, accountability and training as a retention tool, Laraine will encourage participants to creatively look at their organizations and challenge them to create solutions that meet their budget, time frame and employee demographics.
  • Tiffany Gearhart, trainer and recruitment specialist for AIRS, powered by ADP. Returning for the third time as a speaker for VMA’s HR events, Tiffany will once again bring her recruiting and training expertise to present a detailed discussion on employer branding, candidate onboarding, and talent management.
  • Bob McIntyre, director of service operations at Insperity, a professional employer organization (PEO). Bob and a colleague will present an informative session on the benefits of PEOs, and how working with such organizations can streamline human capital management, workforce optimization and provide value to your company.

Finally, a member panel of human resources peers, round-table discussions and presentations and several networking opportunities will round out the human resources program.
